We are a church which longs to be made beautiful, diverse and large by the gracious work of Christ.
⛪ 9:30am & 6pm services every Sunday

Did you know our former rector had a secret life b Did you know our former rector had a secret life behind the microphone?

Before serving as Rector of St Stephen’s Willoughby from 1998–2005, the Rev. Ross Nicholson was a late-night radio announcer!

Back in the late 1970s, Ross hosted the “Captain Midnight Show” on 2CBA-FM.

So, before the sermons, there were the late-night tunes, the microphone and probably a few “good evening, listeners…” moments!
What is life all about? Who is Jesus? And what dif What is life all about? Who is Jesus? And what difference could faith make in our lives?

Alpha is a relaxed, welcoming space to explore these questions, meet new people and have honest conversations about life, meaning and faith. Each week includes food, a short video and plenty of opportunity to ask questions - and there are no silly questions!

Alpha is currently running at St Stephen’s Willoughby, and everyone is welcome, whether you’re curious about Christianity, exploring faith for the first time, or simply keen to think more deeply about life.

We spend so much of life trying to become enough; We spend so much of life trying to become enough; strong enough, secure enough, capable enough.

But Jesus doesn’t simply offer us a way to become self-sufficient. He offers us himself.

“Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’”
— John 6:35 (NIV)

What might change if we trusted that Jesus is sufficient for what we’re carrying today?
Church on Sunday. Tennis on… Tuesday? Back in 189 Church on Sunday. Tennis on… Tuesday?

Back in 1895, St Stephen’s Rector, Rev. Daniel Murphy, decided the Willoughby community needed more than pews.

So, after buying two neighbouring blocks, he had TWO parish tennis courts built!

Pretty progressive for the 1890s! He wanted St Stephen’s to be a place where local people could gather, get active, make friends and enjoy time together throughout the week.

Turns out, some things never change - St Stephen’s has always been more than just Sundays.

Now we want to hear from you!

Did you, your parents or grandparents ever play tennis on the historic St Stephen’s courts?
Whatever you’re carrying, whatever your week has l Whatever you’re carrying, whatever your week has looked like, you’re always welcome at St Stephen’s Willoughby - just as you are.

Come along this Sunday. There’s a place for you here.

What if generosity isn’t simply about what we give What if generosity isn’t simply about what we give, but the path we choose to walk?

When God’s grace changes us, pouring ourselves out for others begins to look less like a loss and more like following Jesus.
