Give to our Ministry

Why you should consider financially supporting St Stephen’s Ministry

Taking our lead from the Bible we believe:

1. God has given us money as one of his good gifts.

2. He wants us to generously give our money away.

3. We should look to support the poor & the vulnerable.

4. We should invest in the eternal things through investing in Gospel ministry.

If you would like to support the ministry of St Stephen’s you can do it through one of two ways:

How much should I Give?

For regular giving: In the Old Testament, God’s people were encouraged to give a tithe (10%) of their income back to him. By the time we reach the New Testament, a new principle is introduced-sacrificial generosity. Sacrificial generosity replaces the Old Testament principle of tithing. So, rather than being commanded to give 10%, Christians are now called to show generosity in response to God’s grace shown to us in Jesus Christ. Even though the New Testament does not lay upon us the old law of 10%, it would seem rather inconsistent with the gospel of grace for us to conclude that we should give any less than 10%. Paradoxically, grace actually lifts the bar on generosity rather than lowering it. If you want to know what generosity looks like, why not try starting with a tithe and see if you can build up from there? Let the tithe be your springboard for generosity.

For one-off gift day: Our goal for this year is $50,000. Households should consider their needs, pray about the commitment and then give with a joyful heart.

What about the Redevelopment of our site?

We are currently finalising the requirements for the redevelopment. Once the details of the development project are finalised we will provide more opportunities to raise funds for the proposed once in a generation development of our site.
